16th Annual Business Dinner

Pakistan Chamber of Commerce – USA (PCC-USA) had its 16th Annual Business dinner on December 16th, 2012. This was a private boat cruise networking dinner in Clear Lake that was full to capacity. The event started with registration and informal networking at the South Shore Harbour resort in League City, TX followed by the dinner cruise from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Earlier in the day the weather had taken turn for the worst. However, by late afternoon, the rain stopped and it turned out to be the perfect evening for the guests to hang out on the deck.
Guests to this event represented various main stream business folks and key government officials. The event also had a family feel since many spouses also joined in this event. The intent of this dinner was to allow folks to interact in an informal setting. Thus the formal part of the event that included some key note speeches was limited to about 45 min. Some of the key speakers at this event were Dr. Ashraf Abbasi founder of PCC-USA, Mr. Waseem Rahim President PCC-USA, Honorable Steve Stockman Chair PCC-USA relations/congressman from 36th district of TEXAS and Mr. Tim Paulissen Mayor of League city.
Several members of the chamber were recognized at this event. These included Mr. Zaki Mirza VP Marketing, Mrs. Nargis Ahmed VP Administration, Mr. Javed Iqbal Chair Seminars and Mr. Sheikh Awais member PCC-USA.
Business award for community service was given to Mr. Nasir Ali, CEO Small BIZ cash. Mr. Ali has sponsored organizations such TCF, the PCC-USA Chamber, OPEN and others. He has also mentored small business owners for nearly a decade in the Community as well as through mainstream organizations such as the Small Business Administration and SCORE.
Entrepreneur of the year award was given to Dr. M. Razak Chaudry, Executive VP of Analytical Industries Inc. Dr. Razak has also launched high purity fittings for semi-conductor industry and compression type fittings for instrumentation and gas delivery system under the trade name TRUELOK. He has alos raised funds for charitable and human/education development programs in Pakistan. Dr. Razak was also President of Council of Pakistan American Affairs, a Los Angeles based organization with the aim to facilitate USA elected and appointed officials to understand issues related to USA-Pakistan relations.
